Art and Environment

The Art and Environment ministry is responsible for the procurement, design, and care of the decorations, flowers, altar cloths, liturgical furnishings, and other items. The decoration of the sanctuary, the adoration chapel and the church nave for the different seasons, feasts and liturgies plays an integral part of this ministry. Volunteers are needed for the big projects, such as decorating for Easter and Christmas, as well as with smaller opportunities throughout the year.

Perpetual Adoration & Adoration Substitute

Perpetual Adoration began at Blessed Sacrament in 1983, under the direction of Father Beberle. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed 24 hours a day, every day of the year, except Good Friday through Holy Saturday. The chapel is open to everyone, any time of day, for any length of time, but someone must be with our Eucharistic Lord at all times. Individuals and families can commit to one hour each week on an ongoing basis, or two or more families/persons may share an hour if a weekly commitment is not possible. Names can also be added to the substitute list.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Home Enthronement

The Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a ceremony that takes place in the home of a parishioner to consecrate their home and family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Under the leadership of a priest or designated layperson, pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are placed in the home and the family is guided to say a special prayer of consecration.

Because the Blessed Virgin is the one who has loved Jesus Christ most, she is the Mother of perfect love, and it is to her that we should address ourselves in order to be inflamed with that love. For this reason, a statue of the Blessed Mother is also placed in the home for a week and the family is encouraged to say the rosary as a group to ask Mary to inflame their hearts with a love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

All parishioners are encouraged to have their homes and families consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
