The Parish as a Community of Disciples
Our parish vision is to create disciples and live the stewardship way of life. To create a culture of discipleship, we need to create different opportunities for people to personally encounter Jesus. This can be through prayer, scripture, the sacraments, retreats, a book study, a relationship with a disciple, and many more. Our parish offers a broad range of opportunities for our parishioners to connect and draw closer to Jesus Christ. I would like to share with you two opportunities for discipleship:
Forming Intentional Disciples book study - This study will be offered beginning Wednesday, July 11th at 7:00 AM in the Bishop Gerber Room. To register, please call the parish office at 316-682-4557 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Why should you read Forming Intentional Disciples by Sherry Weddell? The five thresholds introduced in the book are very practical and meaningful for those that are trying to evangelize in the Catholic Church. In her book, Weddell teaches you how to open a conversation of faith and trust and how to ask thought provoking questions. Our faith is our greatest gift! Greater than any possession we own. Let’s learn how to share that gift!
Walking with Purpose - Do you desire to grow in your Catholic faith? Would you like to connect with other women in our parish community? Are you searching for something more in your life? We will be hosting weekly group sessions this Fall 2018. Walking with Purpose is a women’s Catholic Bible study that aims to bring women to a closer relationship with Christ. Personal study and small group discussions at WWP each week link our everyday challenges with the solutions given to use through the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church. Interested in learning more, please call the parish office at 682-4557 or email Annemarie Gallagher at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
While these opportunities are different they have the same mission – to make disciples which St. Josemaria Escriva said, “Winning new disciples. It’s the unmistakable sign of new zeal.”
Prayerfully yours,
