There is not any research that shows any negative effects from inclusion done appropriately with the necessary supports and services for students to actively participate and achieve IEP goals.

  • Collaborate and provide support for classroom teachers
  • Help educate peers on how to react to classmates with different needs
  • Modify curriculum or assignments
  • Facilitate a social thinking group for children who struggle with social skills
  • Develop personalized visual checklists and behavior charts
  • Communicate with parents on a regular basis and update them on progress
