One of the most extraordinary gifts from God is the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) and tonight 54 students from our Parish School of Religion, Fiat Homeschool, and the Church of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic School received theirs. Three visiting Priests were here to help as each child made their individual confession. After, they met their parents and then were presented with a candle lit from the Paschal Candle. A powerful gift indeed, for these children to hear the words, “You’re forgiven,” from the lips of an actual human being. Jesus intended all of us to receive forgiveness from His appointed priests who have their authority in succession from the apostles. Leaders who can trace the power they have to “forgive sins” right back to the very first command Jesus gave after his resurrection. In fact, the very first command that Jesus gave His apostle.
