The Lord’s Diner, a not-for-profit soup kitchen operated by the community, for the community, and sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, provides an evening meal seven days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays. Responding to Christ’s call to feed the hungry, it seeks to achieve this goal in a spirit of compassion, respect, and loving service through cooperative efforts with churches, individuals, and organizations. Located at the corner of Broadway and Central in downtown Wichita, The Lord’s Diner serves dinner from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Large volunteer groups from area churches and organizations are the core of the volunteer base and are scheduled to serve once a month. Blessed Sacrament stewards work at The Lord’s Diner on the first Sunday of each month. Stewards may sign up to volunteer in the morning to prepare the food or in the evening to serve the food. All those serving at the diner will be required to take the VIRTUS class and complete an online food handler’s course.  To learn more about The Lord’s Diner, go to www.thelordsdiner.org.
