Altar Servers (training begins in 5th grade)

The ministry of serving at the altar is open to boys and girls in fifth grade through eighth grade. Servers are expected to serve 6:30 am weekday Masses 2-3 days per month. Scheduling is flexible. Experienced servers may be asked to serve weddings and funerals.

Mass Captains (boys age 14+)

The Mass Captain (MC) program is reserved for young men in high school who take their faith seriously, who have excelled at serving at the altar, and who possess the talent and desire to be a leader. Mass Captains undergo extensive liturgical training in order to be elite servers in liturgical worship, leading and overseeing the younger servers, ensuring the smooth and reverent celebration of the Mass. Through the Mass Captain program, young men will develop leadership skills and reverence for and understanding of the liturgy, deepening their identity as Catholic gentlemen and, most importantly, their relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition to liturgical service, the Mass Captains also come together on a regular basis to work on service projects and to enjoy recreational activities.
