Lectors are trained lay ministers who prepare and proclaim the Sacred Scripture at weekday, weekend, and holy day Masses. Lectors are scheduled on a rotating basis and may serve seven or more times a year. In addition to their initial training, lectors are required to participate in an annual refresher session and to study The Workbook for Lectors in preparation for reading.
